Safe Exercises for Preventing Prostate Cancer
There is no proven 100 percent way to prevent prostate cancer, but there are a few exercises that promote better prostate health, which will in turn lessen the chances that you do get prostate cancer. The most well known exercises are called Kegel exercises.-
Kegel Exercises
-
Named after their creator, Dr. Arnold Kegel, Kegel exercises help promote prostate health by working out the muscles along the pelvic floor. Dr. Kegel first formulated these exercises in the 1940s as a way for women to help strengthen their pelvic muscles to aid in child birth, but he quickly realized that the exercises could also help men. The exercises help the prostate stay as small as possible, which in turn means there is less stress on the prostate area resulting in better blood flow and easier urine flow and release. The exercises themselves involve contracting and clenching the pelvic muscles. Over an extended period of time, the exercises will strengthen and tone the external sphincter. The external sphincter is what aids in releasing urine. If that is in better shape, the easier it will become to release your urine.

Physicians recommend starting Kegel exercises before you even have any problems with your prostate. The better shape it is in, the more likely you are to escape the clutches of prostate cancer, but it will not prevent it every time. If you do get diagnosed with prostate cancer, you should continue to do these exercises as it will give you a better shot at beating the cancer without having to get a radical procedure like a prostatectomy, which is a complete or partial removal of the prostate. As with any exercise, if you do not do them on a continual basis, you will not see results. Kegel exercises will also help in the sexual department, aiding in a much stronger erection and getting rid of that embarrassing premature ejaculation problem.
