Correct Use of Spirometer

A spirometer, also called an incentive spirometer, is a device used to perform breathing exercises. It can also measure how much air you are able to take into your lungs. This portable device has an air chamber and a breathing tube. According to Drugs.com, it is often used for patients with lung disease, breathing problems or who have recently undergone surgery. You may begin using the spirometer in the hospital. To further aid your recovery, your doctor may instruct you to continue to use the spirometer at home.
