How to Strengthen Vision With Eye Exercises

1
Practice your eye exercises consistently, aiming to train at least three or four days per week, for 20 minutes or more at a time. Regular practice combined with off-days to allow the body to recovery is the key to achieving success with any activity, so schedule in sufficient training time to elicit results.

2
Train your focusing ability by practicing smooth and rapid shifts between objects near at hand and far away. Sit in a chair with a book open in your lap. Initiate the exercise by focusing on the page in front of you for a moment, then switching your focus to an object that's far across the room (for example, a lamp sitting on a table, a light switch far away). Continue shifting back and forth between the near and far objects for 20 to 30 seconds at a stretch, resting for one minute, and then repeating the exercise for a total of five to 10 "sets."

3
Increase your ability to quickly pick objects out of a group. Using the same book (or an open, text-heavy web page on your computer), quickly scan down the page, looking for only a single letter at a time (such as "r" or "t"). Scan the page both forward and backward, counting the incidence rate of your chosen letter as quickly as you can, repeating the process on several pages to further increase your visual acuity. Consider purchasing a commercial program when you feel that you've made some progress with your eye training. Although there are some doubts over the efficacy of these programs, if you find that practice of the free exercises above is working to help improve your vision, consider investing in a complete package.
