1
Talk to your doctor about the treatment plan that's right for you. Injections are usually only a piece of the puzzle when it comes to treating a pinched nerve. Learn about other ways to treat your condition, such as physical therapy and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs).

2
Receive local injections of corticosteroids. Corticosteroids, such as cortisone and aldosterone, reduce inflammation and alleviate painful symptoms. This form of treatment is unlikely to permanently eliminate your symptoms, but it can bring temporary relief.

3
Call your doctor if your injections fail to bring pain relief. If this is the case, you may require more drastic treatment such as surgery. Surgery usually requires removing the tissues that are placing undue pressure on the pinched nerve.
