      Keep your body hydrated. This can be done by drinking a minimum of six to eight, (8-oz.) glasses of water every day. Increase your water intake if you are taking part in a physically strenuous activity or you are outside in hot weather.

      Increase low sodium foods to help reduce the sodium intake in your daily diet. Use salt substitutes and other spices for cooking flavor. Increase the amount of no-processed foods in your diet. Processed foods tend to have higher sodium content.

      Urinate through a medical strainer to catch any stones that you pass. Have them analyzed to determine what kind of stones they are. Have your doctor recommend a diet tailored to preventing future stones from forming.
