Keep your body hydrated. This can be done by drinking a minimum of six to eight, (8-oz.) glasses of water every day. Increase your water intake if you are taking part in a physically strenuous activity or you are outside in hot weather.
-
2
Increase low sodium foods to help reduce the sodium intake in your daily diet. Use salt substitutes and other spices for cooking flavor. Increase the amount of no-processed foods in your diet. Processed foods tend to have higher sodium content.

3
Urinate through a medical strainer to catch any stones that you pass. Have them analyzed to determine what kind of stones they are. Have your doctor recommend a diet tailored to preventing future stones from forming.
-
4
Have your physician perform routine lab and urinalysis work done on your body to determine your risk for kidney stone development.
