1
Get up and walk around. Exercise is important for everyone, but especially the elderly. Use assistance if necessary, but just be sure to leave your chair or bed periodically throughout the day.

2
Research geriatric massage. Learn about the benefits and precautions, and if you find that you're a candidate, make an appointment. Geriatric therapists are aware of the physical needs of elderly patients.

3
Get herbs or herb capsules from your pharmacy or health food store to improve your circulation. Herbs that have been found to increase circulation include ginko biloba, cayenne pepper and garlic. Try one or all of them to see if they work for you.

4
Get the proper amount of water each day. Even though elderly people usually need less water, it can often be a need that's overlooked, and a lack of fluid can result in poor circulation.

5
See your doctor to determine if cholesterol could be the cause of poor circulation. If this is the case, you may need to change your diet or even take certain medications to help reduce your bad cholesterol and improve your circulation.
