Vardenafil is an oral drug used to treat impotence. It's better known under the brand name Levitra. Vardenafil comes in tablet form, in 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 mg dosages.

    • Vardenafil treats erectile dysfunction (ED) by helping to increase blood flow into the penis during sexual stimulation.

    Usage

    • It is normally recommended that people take vardenafil 60 minutes before sexual intercourse.

    Considerations

    • Vardenafil is similar in function to sildenafil (Viagra) and tadalafil (Cialis), with only minor differences in their molecular structures.

    Side Effects

    • Common adverse side effects with vardenafil include headaches, heartburn, runny nose, dizziness or nausea. In rare cases, vardenafil has caused a sudden loss of vision.

    Warning

    • Do not use vardenafil if you also take a nitrate drug. Avoid use if you have hereditary eye problems, such as retinitis pigmentosa, or heart problems.
