How to Increase Blood Pressure Quickly

Blood pressure is measured by arm cuffs, and many people suffer from low blood pressure. When the blood pressure is too low, common symptoms include dizziness and fatigue as well as fainting and lightheadedness. Many things can lower blood pressure including being dehydrated and brady or tachycardia, as well as a low amount of salt in the diet. When suffering from dehydration, the easiest way to raise the blood pressure is to increase fluids over a 12-hour period by taking in electrolytes and oral fluids.

Instructions

Sprinkle salt on all food that you eat in one day. Do not add tablespoons or teaspoons to every meal, but take in more than you normally would eat on a regular basis. Too much salt can cause heart troubles and should be avoided at all costs unless ordered by a physician.

    • 2

Fill the 12-ounce glass and drink the entire glass at least 12 times a day. This will help to increase the water consumption, as most people do not take in the recommended eight glasses a day. Drinking 12 glasses a day will help to raise the blood pressure considerably over a 12-hour period.

Buy and take any product that is sold over the counter that contains ephedrine by following the manufacturer's recommended directions. Many diet pills contain ephedrine, a form of caffeine that will also speed up the heart rate and create more pressure, so in turn this will raise the blood pressure considerably faster than any other remedy at home. Remember that if you are on medications, check the compatibility of ephedrine with your medications. If this is a problem, consult your physician or pharmacist for more information on the compatibility.
