Remove whatever is rubbing against the corn. Normally the corn will go away after the pressure is removed. If you have a foot deformity that results in your shoes rubbing against your feet, have prescription sole inserts made for a better shoe fit.

Consult your physician about trimming down the corn in an office visit. Normally a scalpel is used, and you should not try this yourself.

Apply a patch with salicylic acid on the corn. There are a variety of brands, such as Dr. Scholl's Corn Removers and Curad Mediplast.

Correct the alignment of the bone. According to the Mayo Clinic, in rare circumstances surgery may be needed if the bone's alignment is the source of the problem.
