What Is Suboptimal Liver Function?

• When the liver operates in a suboptimal state, it means that the absorption and release of chemicals is not working within normal parameters. Suboptimal may be the result of a more serious condition such as hepatitis or diabetes. Suboptimal liver function may just be something that a doctor will monitor in case a patient develops a more serious complication.
