Try to pinpoint the cause of your armpit sweating. Things to take into consideration are your body weight, the type of clothes you wear and a family history of excessive sweating, hormonal imbalances or other medical conditions. If you’re unable to find an exact cause for your armpit sweating, you should visit a doctor for a physical exam and to possibly run some tests to determine the reason. Your doctor can also prescribe deodorant and medication or recommend surgery if the source of your sweating is your sweat glands.

Switch your deodorant to one that is alum based. Alum not only helps to control armpit sweating, it also helps to minimize body odor. Alum crystals can also be rubbed under your arms to help control sweating. If you use alum crystals, be sure to smooth the edges before rubbing them under your arms. You can also put baby powder or talcum powder under your arms to absorb any extra moisture.

Try using vinegar, apple cider vinegar or lime juice under your arms. If you use any of these, be sure your underarms are free from any nicks or scrapes from shaving. If you use any of these methods, it may be best to apply them to your underarms in the evening since they omit a strong smell. Wash them off in the morning and apply deodorant. Apple cider vinegar can also be helpful if drunk, it since it helps to flush toxins out of your system. If you drink it, you may have to dilute it with water because it is acidic.

Make some changes to your diet. If you’re overweight, this can cause more sweating than normal, and eating a healthier diet and losing some weight can help reduce sweating. Even if you’re not overweight, some simple dietary changes can help reduce armpit sweating. Start eating fewer spices so your sweat glands aren’t working as much. Also, add more fiber and natural foods to your diet in order to flush toxins out of your body.

Wear clothing made from cotton. Some other clothing materials don’t allow your skin to get enough air and can result in armpit sweating. Cotton clothing allows air to get to your skin and is less likely to irritate it.

Try to relax. Being very nervous or having anxiety problems can cause you to sweat more. Relaxation techniques such as yoga, acupuncture, listening to tranquil music or breathing exercises can help you to stay calm and reduce sweating.
