Appearex Ingredients

Appearex is a supplement taken to strengthen brittle nails. Common causes of brittle nails are excessive use of detergents, nail polish and solvents on the fingernails. The active ingredient in appearex is 2.5 mg of biotin. Several inactive ingredients are in appearex, used as excipients, helping the pill bind together and digest quickly after ingested.

Biotin

• The main ingredient in appearex is biotin, a vitamin from the B-complex family. Biotin is naturally found in many household foods. Biotin deficiency can frequently occur during malnutrition or pregnancy. Taking biotin may help strengthen your nails.

Lactose Monohydrate

• Lactose monohydrate is a type of sugar found in milk. Lactose is used as a diluent when making pills. It can act as a binder, helping to hold the pill together.

Cornstarch

• Cornstarch occurs naturally when enzymes interact with sugar in corn, converting the sugar into starch. Cornstarch is used as a disintegrant in pills, helping the pill break apart when it reaches the digestive tract.

Povidone (K25)

• Povidone is a creamy white powder used as an excipient in pills. The K25 corresponds to a measure of the povidone's viscosity. Povidone is highly adhesive, which assists with binding. Povidone is also readily soluble in water, helping it digest quickly.

Magnesium Stearate

• Magnesium stearate is a fatty acid found in numerous household foods. It has lubricant properties, which help maintain a consistent mixture during the pill formation process. Magnesium Stearate also helps prevent the pill mixture from sticking to external objects.
