What to Eat When You Are Nauseous
-
Liquids
-
Drink fluids. Sticking with fluids is important when you suffer from nausea. Ice chips and sports drinks can help. Taking small sips, instead of gulping your drink, will keep the sensation of nausea to a minimum.
Foods
-
Eat light. The Cleveland Clinic recommends eating bland foods. Avoid sugary or fried foods. Acceptable food products include crackers, toast, jello, and bananas. Eating large meals when you're sick may also make you feel sick.
Avoid
-
Avoid foods that provoke nausea. Certain foods will trigger nausea if you're pregnant or have viral gastroenteritis. Caffeine, fatty and overly seasoned foods, and dairy products may make you feel queasy.
