How to Reduce Ceramide Levels

Ceramide is a lipid molecule composed of an amino acid, sphingosine, and a fatty acid. Ceramide is typically found in membranes of cells and work as a signaling molecule for many cell functions. High levels of ceramides have been linked to cancer, diabetes and obesity. At the current time there is limited knowledge on what roles ceramides play in these conditions. Reducing the level of ceramide in the system can be accomplished through training and introducing dietary soy proteins into the diet.
