Signs of Over Acidity
The accumulation of acid in your body may cause a variety of ailments, including Acidosis, the over-acidification of cells. Signs of having an overly-acidic body can include fatigue, frequent chills, a susceptibility to infection and migraine headaches. More serious cases of acidification can result in chronic ailments or irreversible diseases. These illnesses begin when the body shows extreme signs of an overly-acidic body, meaning it has a pH of 7 or lower.-
Acidic Tissue
-
One sign of an overly-acidic body is the accumulation of excess acid in body tissues. While there is currently no way to determine the pH level of body tissue, testing the pH level of saliva, blood or urine can be a good indicator of one's acidity. A body that experiences chronic over-acidity may experience inhibited circulation and the corrosion of body tissues. Small acid crystals may cause a burning pain in your joints, your ankles may swell and you may experience a chronic cold if your body is overly acidic.
Depressed Immune System
-
Acidosis can also wreak havoc on your immune system, preventing it from working to its full potential and leaving you susceptible to infection and disease. If your body's pH is overly-acidic, microbes can grow more easily in your respiratory system to cause bronchial spasms, pneumonia, coughs and colds or even headaches. An overly-acidic body may also result in many different forms of acne, a common sign of Acidosis commonly mistaken for an unhealthy diet.
Osteoporosis
-
Osteoporosis, the demineralization of bones, is a tell-tale sign of Acidosis, as this disease is more often the result of an overly-acidic body rather than a deficiency of milk or dairy products. The more acid your body becomes, the harder it works to maintain a healthy pH balance and protect against illness or disease. As your body works overtime to keep you body balanced, it robs your bones, teeth and tissue of precious calcium, leaving them brittle, weak and even more susceptible to an overly-acidic environment.
