Confirm hyponatremia with your doctor through blood and/or urine tests.

Drink an electrolyte solution to replenish fluids, if recommended by your doctor.

Buy Pedialyte without a prescription at stores that sell infant formula. Follow dosage instructions on the label unless otherwise instructed by your doctor. Take 1 to 2 ounces per pound of body weight in a 2- to 4-hour period.

Contact your doctor if you are unable to keep down fluids due to nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. This may indicate a need to start IV fluid replenishment.
