1
See your dentist to receive a prescription for antibiotics. Your tooth infection is caused by harmful bacteria and one of the best ways to fight this is prescription medicine.
-
2
Rinse your mouth out with an antiseptic mouthwash at least three times a day. These types of mouthwashes have high amounts of alcohol and other ingredients that are able to kill harmful bacteria in the mouth. This should be done until the infection is gone.

3
Create a saltwater solution - 3 parts water, 1 part salt - and wash your mouth out with it. This is a simple bacteria-killing solution that will fight much of the harmful bacteria that is causing your tooth infection. Use this solution at least three times a day.

4
Brush your teeth and floss around the infected tooth as best you can. Any food caught around the infected tooth can actually make the infection worse. Proper dental hygiene will aid the healing process and help prevent future infections.
