What Really Works for Lice?
Lice are tiny insects that are typically found on the head; however, they also can be found on other parts of the body as well. These parasites can be transmitted to others by simply sharing a hair brush or coming in close contact with someone else who has lice. Lice medications contain chemicals that may cause various side effects. A few natural treatments at home can be successful in ridding the body of the parasites.-
Nit Picking
-
Using a magnifying glass and a lice comb, you should start at the base of the neck and work your way up looking for the tiny nits (lice eggs). They may look like dandruff; however, when you try to comb them off, they will feel as if they are attached to the skin. Check for at least two to three days to ensure that all of the nits are gone.
Vinegar
-
Licetreatments.com states that white vinegar will kill lice in the hair. Wash your hair with vinegar and the lice should be gone within the next two days. Do not mix the vinegar with shampoo.
Mouthwash
-
Using plain Listerine mouthwash, rub it into your hair down to the scalp. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave on for 24 hours.
