      Identify the symptoms. Determine if the suspected infected person has suffered from foul smelling stools, mucous in stools, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, coughing, decreased appetite, abdominal gas, cramping and fatigue. Be sure to ask if they have had excessive itching in the anus area.

      Perform this test early in the morning, before any bathing or use of the bathroom facilities has been done. Attach a piece of double-sided tape to the end of a wooden stick.

      Press the tape gently against the anus. Detach the tape from the anus. Examine the tape for any white specks or particles.

      Contact your doctor immediately if any white specks or particles are found.
