What is ATP exudative?

ATP synthase is an ATP-producing enzyme which synthesizes ATP from ADP.** The mechanism of ATP synthesis was first proposed by Peter Mitchell, who, in the early 1960s, hypothesized that ATP synthesis was achieved through the generation of a proton gradient formed when protons are pumped across the inner membrane towards the periplasmic space by the membrane-bound respiratory chain. He proposed a two-phase mechanism known as the Mitchell mechanism or chemiosmosis.
