A doctor should be consulted before employing this supplement in the treatment of migraines.
  1. Side Effects

    • There are a number of negative side effects that have been associated with Migravent use. Some of the side effects that may be experienced while taking Migravent are gastrointestinal upset and belching. People taking Migravent may also notice a discoloration in their urine. Generally there should be no concern if any of these side effects emerge. Taking Migravent with other medications or supplements should not result in a decrease of effectiveness and should not intensify or increase the likelihood of experiencing negative side effects.

    Migraines

    • The Mayo Clinic defines migraines as, "Chronic headaches that can cause significant pain for hours or even days. Symptoms can be so severe that all you can think about is finding a dark, quiet place to lie down." Flashes of light, tingling in the arms or legs and blind spots are sensory warning symptoms that may precede a migraine. Nausea, extreme sensitivity to light and sound as well as vomiting often accompany migraines.

    Warnings

    • Some people may have an allergic reaction to this supplement. Signs of an allergic reaction include nausea, persistent abdominal pain, vomiting or jaundice. Use of this supplement should be halted and a doctor or pharmacist should be contacted immediately if signs of an allergic reaction emerge. This supplement is not recommended for use in children younger than 12 and in women who are pregnant or nursing without the approval of a doctor.

    Facts

    • The manufacturers of Migravent claim that their product utilizes the most effective natural components in the prevention of migraines. The ingredients in Migravent attack the mechanisms that can lead to migraine attacks. Migravent is available in dark purple tablets and should be taken with food.

    Features

    • Migravent contains butterbur extract, riboflavin, magnesium and coenzyme Q10, all of which are known to prevent and ease migraine symptoms. Butterbur extract contains petasin and isopetasin which, according to the manufacturer, "help reduce spasms in cerebral blood vessels and inhibit the production of leukotriens, compounds that trigger inflammation of blood vessels." Migravent utilizes magnesium because magnesium deficiencies are known to possibly trigger a migraine.
