Can Novo Ketorolac Be Used for Migraines?
Novo ketorolac, most commonly simply referred to as ketorolac, is used to treat moderately severe pain. It is usually prescribed after surgery. It is also sometimes used, usually as a last resort, for the treatment of migraines.-
Orally
-
Ketorolac is normally prescribed in its tablet form, to be taken orally.
Injection
-
In the event of severe migraines, ketorolac may be injected in its parenteral form, which begins lessening the pain almost immediately.
Study
-
The Harvard Medical School in Boston studied the benefit of injecting ketorolac into patients suffering from migraines, finding it successful in nine of the 14 study participants.
Avoidance
-
Use of ketorolac should be seen as a last resort and should be avoided as much as possible, due to the possibility of side effects, which increase with dosage and duration of use.
Proper Use
-
Follow proper dosage as given by your physician. Take the tablet with a meal and a glass of water. For self-administered shots, make sure to get proper training in how to inject.
