Imitrex is a prescription drug that is used to treat migraine headaches both with and without auras. A migraine aura is when the person who suffers from the headache experiences changes in vision like partial blindness, seeing flashing lights or hallucinations. The drug works on the blood vessels and nerves that are thought to cause migraines.
