Treximet Side Effects

Treximet is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of migraine headaches. The medication is comprised of both sumatriptan and naproxen. Treximet functions to soothe headache and various other signs of migraine, including nausea, vomiting, and sound and light sensitivities. As with any type of medication, there are possible side effects due to taking Treximet.

Some potentially harmful side effects of this medicine include unexplained and sudden weight gain; abnormal muscle or joint ache; bloody diarrhea; dark and bloody stools; blistered, red, peeling and swollen skin; jaw, chest, and neck pain; pressure and tightness in the chest; disorientation; confusion; darker colored urine; extreme dizziness or headache; seizures; weakness on one side of the body; ringing in the ears; urine amount changes; speech changes (such as slurred words); lingering nausea or stomach ache; shortness of breath; swelling of the feet, legs or hands; vomit that resembles coffee grounds; jaundice; blue or cold toes and fingers; wheezing; extended flushing; mood or mental changes; changes in vision; vision loss; chills; persistent sore throat; irregular or rapid heartbeat; passing out and depression.

    Allergic Reactions

    • Allergic reactions are also considered to be severe side effects from Treximet. In situations of allergic reaction, it is necessary to get emergency medical help. Some signs of allergic reaction to Treximet are difficulty breathing, chest tightness, breaking out into hives, itchiness, skin rash, and swelling of the tongue, mouth, lips and face.

    Warnings

    • Treximet is not an appropriate or suitable medication for everybody. People who should avoid this medicine include those with untreated hypertension, those with liver disease, and those who in the past have had blood circulation issues, angina, heart bypass surgery, stroke, heart attack or heart disease.

    Overdose
