How long can a person last with scurvy?
The length of time a person can last with scurvy depends on a number of factors, including the person's age, overall health, and the severity of the vitamin C deficiency. In general, however, a person with scurvy can expect to live for about two to three months if they do not receive treatment.
There are a number of ways to treat scurvy. The most common treatment is to eat foods that are rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, grapefruits, and strawberries. Vitamin C supplements can also be taken to treat scurvy.
In severe cases of scurvy, hospitalization may be necessary. In these cases, vitamin C will be given intravenously (IV).
