Symptoms of MS Disease
MS, or multiple sclerosis, is a chronic illness that affects your central nervous system. It can be mild or disabling. Because it involves the central nervous system, the symptoms can vary from person to person. However, those listed below are often common, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.-
Numbness
-
Numbness in your face, body, arms or legs is one of the first symptoms. It can be very mild, or it may interfere with your daily activities if, for example, you cannot walk or hold something with your hands.
Vision
-
You may experience vision loss or double vision. Nystagmus, or involuntary eye movement, can also occur.
Walking and Balance Problems
-
If you have MS, you may experience problems keeping your balance or walking normally.
Fatigue
-
Because of the effect of MS on the central nervous system, you may be tired and lack your normal stamina.
Cognitive Impairment
-
Thinking, learning and reasoning can all be affected by MS. Your ability to problem-solve or complete daily tasks may diminish.
