1
Position yourself near a wall or something sturdy that will support your weight.
-
2
Place your left foot a couple inches from the wall. The leg should be bent to form about a 45-degree angle.
-
3
Move your right leg away from the wall. Keep your right leg straight and go back as far as you feel comfortable to get a good stretch of the calf muscle. The intensity of the stretch is determined by how far back the leg is. To prevent additional muscle pain, don't overstretch the calf muscle.
-
4
Keep both feet flat on the floor as you lean into the wall.
-
5
Hold that leaning position for about 30 seconds.
-
6
Relax, then bend the right leg slightly and lean and stretch again. That will work a deeper muscle in the calf.
-
7
Relax and repeat the above steps with the left leg back.
