Sunbeam Heating Pad Troubleshooting
The Sunbeam heating pad has relatively few controls and therefore only a few points at which it can fail. Troubleshooting your Sunbeam heating pad can often point out at exactly what point the pad is failing. Some common points of failure are easy to troubleshoot and fix on your own. The most common cause of failure in the heating pad, however, is physical damage. If you find damage, stop using it. Do not attempt repairs yourself. If the damage is related to a defect, Sunbeam will fix the problem as long as the pad is still under warranty.Instructions

1
Check the "auto off" switch. If this switch is in the "off" position, the control pad will turn off the heating pad automatically after two hours. Return the switch to the "on" position to keep the pad continually heating until you manually turn it off.
-
2
Check the pad's outlet and controller pad cords. If they are pulled too taut or are too tightly wrapped, the heating pad might fail to turn on or to heat up. Also check the cords and the AC plug for damage, bends or pinches, common causes for the pad failing to heat or turn on.
-
3
Examine the heating pad. If the pad is folded sharply or bunched in any area, it might develop hot spots. If the pad is damaged or worn in any area, the heating pad might fail to heat.

4
Examine the controller. A loose connection between the controller and the cord might cause your controller's heat level indicators to fail to light. Push the controller and the wrap connector together to make sure that they are connected securely. Also check the controller, the "on/off heat mode selector" and the "up/down adjustment controls" for damage.
