What are 3 things that muscles move?
Muscles move bones, skin, and organs.
- Bones: Muscles are attached to bones by tendons. When a muscle contracts, it pulls on the tendon, which in turn pulls on the bone. This causes the bone to move.
- Skin: Muscles are also attached to skin by tendons. When a muscle contracts, it can cause the skin to move. This is how we are able to make facial expressions and move our limbs.
- Organs: Muscles can also move organs. For example, the muscles of the stomach and intestines help to move food through the digestive system.
