Major vein in the thigh region?

The major vein in the thigh region is the femoral vein. It is formed by the union of the profunda femoris vein and the popliteal vein. The femoral vein runs along the medial aspect of the thigh and empties into the external iliac vein. It receives blood from the superficial veins of the leg and thigh, as well as from the profunda femoris vein and the popliteal vein. The femoral vein is important because it carries deoxygenated blood from the leg and thigh back to the heart.
