Where is the Gastrocnemus muscle located?

The Gastrocnemius muscle is located in the back of the lower leg. It is one of the two muscles that make up the calf muscle, the other being the Soleus muscle. The Gastrocnemius muscle originates from the medial and lateral condyles of the femur (thigh bone) and inserts into the calcaneus (heel bone) via the Achilles tendon.
