How to Use Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Arch Supports

According to the Mayo Clinic, over-the-counter arch supports can be used to help prevent pain from such conditions as plantar fasciitis (the inflammation of the connective tissue on the bottom of the foot) and metatarsalgia (pain in the ball of the foot). Dr. Scholl's Massaging Gel Inserts are one type of foot support. These inserts are available without a prescription and are very easy to use. In addition to helping relieve the pain associated with these conditions, they can be used to reduce everyday stresses on the foot.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert the left gel support into your left shoe, with the gel side facing down.

    • 2

Repeat this step with the right massaging gel support.

    • 3

Test them by taking a few steps. It might take a while to get used to this sensation. Be sure that the gel support doesn't cause pain or intense discomfort.

    • 4

If you're running or performing physical activity, go slow at first. Get used to the arch support before performing the most vigorous parts of your workout.

    • 5

Replace the arch inserts every six months.
