Should your neck pulse be approximately the same as wrist pulse?
The carotid artery (in the neck) and radial artery (in the wrist) are both large arteries close to the surface of the skin, and the pulses there can easily be felt. Normally the carotid pulse and the radial pulse are the same. However, in some cases the carotid pulse differs slightly from the radial pulse. If there is a pulse in the carotid artery but none in the radial artery, it is a medical emergency and you should call 911 immediately.
