Can Braxton-Hicks contractions can dilate the cervix?
Braxton-hicks contractions, also known as false labor contractions or practice contractions, are irregular and typically painless contractions of the uterus that occur during pregnancy. While they can cause some discomfort, Braxton-Hicks contractions do not usually cause dilation of the cervix. Dilation of the cervix, which is the opening of the lower part of the uterus, is usually a sign of true labor contractions.
