How to Rub Your Own Shoulders
You have probably had times when your shoulders ached after a long and stressful day. Unfortunately you can't just get a massage every time you have sore shoulders. The best way to get a shoulder massage any time you want is to be able to give yourself a massage. With a little practice you will be able to remove stress and feel better after a short shoulder rub. Move your head back slowly. Take both your hands, one on each side of the bottom of your neck and slowly start to rub and massage the shoulder area. Tilt your head forward very slowly after about 20 seconds and then back again after another 20 seconds. Repeat this step a few times to start to loosen up your shoulders.

Put your hands on each side of your neck. Use your fingers to rub your shoulders in circular motions. Apply pressure every few seconds. Do not put pressure on your spine, just your shoulder and neck muscles. Do this about 10 times to really start to feel the effects.

Hold your shoulders. Take your hands and put them on your shoulders. Grip your shoulders firmly and start to slowly rub your shoulder muscles. At the same time move your shoulders forward then backward. Do this exercise five times forward and then five times backward.

Take one hand and rub the opposite shoulder. Use your left hand to massage your right shoulder and right to massage the left. While you are rubbing the shoulder with your opposite hand gently move the shoulder being rubbed backwards a few times. Try to make full shoulder circles with the shoulder that is being rubbed. Rub each shoulder this way at least three times.

Rub the front and sides of your shoulders. Slowly rub the fronts of your shoulders using a small amount of pressure with your fingers, right around the collar bone area. Use each hand to do the same side shoulder. Now rub the sides of your shoulders and work down half way to your elbow. Use your right hand to rub and massage your left shoulder and vice versa. Slowly go up and down each shoulder until you feel relaxed.
