Understand your Triggers
-
1
Each and every seizure attack has a set of risk factors which trigger the seizure. Inadequate sleep and high stress levels are some of the most common risk factors of seizures. Every risk factor requires a different approach, so knowing and understanding the risk factors not only helps you to avoid them, it also helps in devising a plan of action to stop the seizure.

2
Identify your warning signs. As with triggers, every seizure attack also has a set of warning signs that accompany it, such as experiencing an aura, frothing through the mouth, sudden falling, uncontrolled muscle spasms, or difficulty breathing. If the warning signs are known, you can plan a method in consultation with your doctor to stop the seizure attack.

Take your medicines regularly without fail. The majority of the patients suffering from seizures are often kept on drugs which help in stopping a seizure attack at its onset. One of the most common medications, Klonopin, when taken at the onset of a seizure, helps in decreasing the intensity of the attack.

Get a tranquilizing injection at the onset of a seizure. Patients suffering from acute seizures often inject a tranquilizer such as diazepam or lorazepam at the start of a seizure attack. These drugs have been found to be effective towards controlling and stopping a seizure attack at its onset and providing temporary relief from the condition.

Using relaxation methods is also one of the ways to stop a seizure attack. Whenever you a notice a warning sign of a seizure, try using relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, or sitting in a room with no distraction. These techniques help in reducing stress levels and hence are effective in controlling a seizure attack from taking place.
