Reactions to Bontril
Bontril is a stimulant drug used to help obese patients lose weight. Because Bontril increases blood pressure and heart rate, patients taking the drug may experience reactions including dizziness, nervousness, or nausea.-
Nervous System Reactions

Bontril stimulates the central nervous system, increasing heart rate and blood pressure while decreasing appetite. For some people, this stimulation could result in reactions that include blurred vision, headaches, restlessness, dizziness, nervousness, or difficulty sleeping.
Gastrointestinal Reactions

Patients whose bodies have difficulty adjusting to the stimulant in Bontril may experience gastrointestinal reactions including diarrhea or constipation.
Dependency

Patients taking Bontril for extended periods of time may become dependent upon the drug. Before stopping the medication, consult a doctor to develop a plan to decrease dosage and prevent withdrawal symptoms.
