Write down the calories and fat grams per serving that are listed on the food label. If a food label is unavailable, look up this information on a website that has nutritional information, such as Calorie King's Food Database (see resources).

Divide the number of calories in a serving by 50. Write the quotient down on paper. This number will be "X." Utilize a calculator if you are not confident with your math skills.

Divide the fat grams in each serving by 12. Write down the quotient. It will serve as "Y."

Add the values of X and Y. Round up values that are 0.50 or higher and round down values that are 0.49 or lower.
