How to Get Rid of Flanks
Flanks, which are perhaps better known as love handles, are areas of flesh that accumulate just above the waist. Flanks usually develop when an individual experiences weight gain, and can sometimes be difficult to remove. In order to effectively get rid of flanks, there are five possible options. Selecting an option will essentially depend upon the severity of the flanks and lifestyle changes the individual is willing to make.Instructions

1
Alter your diet by cutting back on calories and fatty foods in particular. Also try to stay away from anything containing large amounts of sugar or sodium. Instead, eat healthier foods such as fruits and vegetables. Not only will this reduce the size of the flanks, it will improve your overall health as well.

2
Eat small meals more frequently and avoid binge eating. For example, instead of eating three large meals a day, switch to eating five smaller meals.

3
Engage in routine exercises that target the flanks. Aerobic and cardiovascular exercises are particularly effective for reducing fat which will inevitably help to get rid of love handles. Some possibilities include sit-ups, crunches and Pilates. In general, it's best to exercise three to four times per week for approximately 30 minutes a session.

Go jogging once or twice a week. Jogging is an effective way to boost your metabolism, which is helpful for shedding stubborn flanks. You don't need to run for miles, just three or four laps around a track should be sufficient.

Get liposuction if your flanks are in very bad shape, or you are unable or unwilling to make the needed lifestyle changes. Liposuction has become a fairly common procedure for quickly removing love handles, and is much safer than it previously was. Contact your physician for more information.
