Make a nutrition plan. If you're trying to lose weight, you may think greatly reducing your calories is the best option. For example, you may think reducing your calories from 1,500 a day to 1,000 might be the best idea, but it's not. That's because you're actually putting your body in starvation mode when you greatly reduce your daily calories. When that happens you lower your metabolism, reduce muscle and actually cause your body to have loose skin. When losing weight it's best to lose about 1 lb. a week -- anything more could put you at risk for loose skin.

Make resistance training a part of the routine. Resistance training, or strength training, builds muscles replaces fat. If done right, your new muscles prevent your skin from sagging. If you're trying to get rid of any loose belly skin, the best resistance training you can do are abdominal workouts, especially holding a medicine ball to provide resistance on your stomach.

Consider plastic surgery. It's not for everyone, but a tummy tuck can help reduce loose belly skin after weight loss. Tummy tucks work by removing excess skin and fat from the stomach to create a firmer abdomen. Typically, surgery is best for someone who is healthy, at their ideal weight and a nonsmoker.
