Trichotillomania Scholarships

Trichotillomania, a compulsive disorder characterized by hair pulling and skin picking, affects up to 3 percent of Americans. The Trichotillomania Learning Center (TLC) offers events and education to increase awareness of the disorder and support those afflicted. The TLC offers scholarships and payment assistance for attendance at its annual conference, retreats and workshops. Learn more at the Center's website: www.trich.org.

Conference Scholarships

• In partnership with behavioral health providers and counseling services in cities around the United States, the TLC holds its annual conference in a major city, offering information, support and resources not only for sufferers, but for educators, family members and the public. Continuing education credits and scholarships for attendance are available.

Retreat Scholarships

• The TLC hosts an annual retreat for those affected by the disorder. The 4-day retreat, held in various scenic locations in the United States, aims to provide a safe place for trichotillomania sufferers to relax and heal. The TLC draws from donations to offer partial scholarships, in varying amounts, for the event.

Workshop Scholarships

• The TLC also conducts workshops in selected U.S. cities every year. These events provide information about the latest research on trichotillomania, offer strategies for managing the disorder, and explore ways to heal. Some partial scholarships are available on a case-by-case basis.
