Use inositol powder. While it comes in pill and capsule form, the powder is easier to take and absorbs into your body more quickly than other forms of inositol. Inositol powder mixes easily into water and has a slightly sweet taste to it.

Start out by taking 1 tsp. of inositol twice a day. Maintain this dose for a week and be on the lookout for any gastric side effects.

Increase your dose of inositol by 1 tsp. a week until you have reached 10 tsps. a day, divided into two daily doses of 5 tsps. each.

Take one dose first thing in the morning and your second dose right before you go to bed. Inositol can make some people a little bit sleepy, but the effect should wear off within an hour of taking the inositol.

Wait for 5 to 6 months to see results. While inositol is highly effective against obsessive compulsive disorder in most cases, it does take some time for levels of it to build up enough in the body to become helpful, so be patient.
