Take a vitamin D supplement if you are not able to sit in the sun for 15 minutes each and every day. Sunlight is not all bad. In fact, when sunlight touches your skin, your body actually makes vitamin D. This is extremely important for bone density and osteoporosis treatment.

Eat 2 tablespoons of peanut butter each day. There are 50 mg of magnesium in 2 tablespoons of peanut butter. Magnesium has been found to greatly help in strengthening and rebuilding bone mass.

Add vinegar to your salads. It increases your body's ability to absorb calcium in the bones. Not only is it good to eat, it is great for osteoporosis as well.

Substitute the meat in your favorite casserole with tofu. Of course you don't have to do this every time you fix the casserole although it is extremely good for your bones when you do. The soy in tofu masks as a type of estrogen, which could actually increase your bone density.

Add boron to your diet by eating 1 large apple each day. Boron is a mineral that makes your body hold the calcium it already has. It does not increase bone density, or increase the body's ability to absorb calcium, but it actually keeps your bone density from getting any less dense.
