1
Take yourself to the emergency room if you experience any of the following side effects of the medication: facial swelling, throat swelling, hives, trouble breathing or trouble swallowing. These are all signs of an allergic reaction to the medication.
-
2
Call your doctor if you feel extreme pain in your muscles, joints, chest or jaw. These may be a sign that the Fosomax is negatively interacting with your regular medications. Your doctor can change the dosage or put you on alternative medications.

3
Use over the counter pain relievers to treat regular muscle or joint pain that you might experience while on the medication. You might also want to stay in bed for a day or two to let your body rest and recuperate.

4
Buy Prilosec or a similar heartburn and acid reflux disorder to treat any nausea or heartburn you might experience when taking the Fosomax. You can also drink milk, stick to bland foods like crackers or white bread and avoid spicy foods that can aggravate the problem.

Drink plenty of fluids to make sure your body stays replenished. Water is a good choice as is a sports drink without a lot of sugar. You should make sure to drink at least eight glasses of water everyday and take any pills with a full glass of water.
