How to Put Bengay on the Foot
Manufacturers make Bengay with the active ingredient methylsalicylate, which is also found in other treatment creams of its type. Bengay can treat minor muscle and joint aches and pains, like arthritis, sprains and back pains. Other uses include easing foot pain relating to arthritis or injury of the foot joints or muscles, as well as for ankle sprains. Bengay works by first making the foot feel cold, then warm, which distracts from the pain and aching.Things You'll Need

1
Apply Bengay while wearing a pair of disposable plastic medical gloves. This will ensure that you don't transfer Bengay from your hands to your eyes or mouth. Apply Bengay liberally where your foot hearts. Rub it into the muscle for deep penetration.

2
Repeat each day until the foot pain subsides. Bengay will not treat the pain, but it will help cover it up. For severe pain, or pain that lasts more than a couple of days, get your doctor's advice.

3
Throw out the gloves and wash your hands. Keep the aching foot off the ground for a while, without pressure, while the Bengay works in to ease pain and discomfort. Do not apply before going into any extreme temperatures that could make it heat to a burning sensation.
