How long does nephritis pain last?

Nephritis is a general term used for inflammation in the kidneys. Symptoms of nephritis may include pain in the lower back or sides between the ribs and hips. The pain of nephritis can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. In severe cases, pain may persist for months or even years.
