1
Measure the thickness of your mattress before you purchase a sheet and blanket support. If you sleep on your back, take into account the need to add a few inches to the mattress height so both the blanket support and the covers clear your feet.
-
2
Choose a sheet support that rises several inches above or one that easily can be adjusted several inches above the mattress. The arms of the sheet support slip under the mattress to hold the support in place. A thick pillow top mattress will fill much of the space left between the under-the-mattress arms and the portion of the blanket support that rises above the bed.
-
3
Purchase a collapsible sheet and blanket support if you travel and need to take the support along with you to keep heavy hotel comforters and blankets off your legs and feet. One that folds down won’t be detected beneath the bedspread and comforter if you’d rather the support didn’t show when it’s not in use.
-
4
Read customer reviews before making the purchase. Make certain the support is sturdy enough to hold up heavy bed covering and will keep blankets and sheets from sliding off the support.
-
5
Ask your doctor or a medical supply store to recommend a blanket support best suited to your needs if you are purchasing the sheet support in response to a medical condition.
