What is the purpose of Raloxifene?

Raloxifene (Evista) belongs to a class of medications called selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs). It works by binding to estrogen receptors in the body, where it acts as an estrogen agonist in some tissues (such as the bones) and as an estrogen antagonist in other tissues (such as the breast).

Breast Cancer:

Raloxifene is also used in the prevention of invasive breast cancer in postmenopausal women with an increased risk of developing breast cancer. It is not used as a primary treatment for breast cancer but is intended to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in high-risk individuals.

Cardiovascular Benefits:
