Instructions

  1. Using Flonase

    • 1

Shake the Flonase container for about 20 to 30 seconds. This is called priming, and needs to be done on the first use or when the medication has gone unused for over a month.

    • 2
Always spray Flonase away from the eyes.

Spray the Flonase into the air until a fine mist is released. This usually takes about six sprays. Make sure to point the bottle away from the face, as this medicine can irritate the eyes.

    • 3
A finger can be placed over the opposite nostril if desired.

Exhale, and place the tip of the bottle in one nostril. Press the pump spray button, then inhale. Follow the instructions for number of sprays on the prescription label. One to two sprays is the general prescribed dose. Repeat on the second nostril.

    • 4

Place the cap on the Flonase bottle and store in a safe location out of the reach of children. You should store Flonase upright and at room temperature. If stored properly and used within a month, you will not need to perform additional priming. Simply shake the bottle for a few seconds before each use.
