Accuzyme Ointment Instructions

Accuzyme ointment cleans and promotes healing of damaged tissue in ulcers, burns and other open wounds. Accuzyme contains papain, extracted from the papaya fruit. The ointment also contains urea and ingredients such as glycerin and lactose. Talk to your doctor about treating your wound with Accuzyme to determine if it will be beneficial for you.

Instructions

      Clean the wound completely, irrigating with a heavy spray of saline or a sterile cleanser recommended by your doctor.

      Squeeze the Accuzyme tube to dispense the ointment. Apply the ointment to the wound, covering the surface area. Follow your doctor's instructions regarding the amount of Accuzyme to apply.

      Secure a sterile adhesive bandage over the wound, sealing it completely around all sides. Make sure that the sterile pad of the bandage covers the entire wound.

      Cap the ointment tube tightly. Store it in a cool, dry location.

      Follow your doctor's directions regarding intervals between reapplications of Accuzyme. Use a fresh bandage each time you apply Accuzyme.
